Lady Johnson Ledger is a Texas-based national satirical newsletter accepting anonymous submissions from contributors across the United States. This policy outlines our terms of submission and classification procedures to protect both contributors and the integrity of the Ledger.

Submission Terms

By submitting your content to Lady Johnson’s Ledger, you agree to the following terms:

• You are voluntarily submitting content that may be edited, anonymized, dramatized, or categorized for editorial purposes.

• All submissions become the property of the Ledger for publication, archival, or classification as determined by our editorial board.

• You understand and consent that your submission may be marked as:

  • Classified – reserved, not for public release

  • Unclassified – eligible for editorial release

  • Satirical – creatively adapted for literary or entertainment purposes

• While your personal identity will not be published without consent, you waive any legal claim to anonymity, compensation, or editorial control.

• The Ledger reserves the right to edit for clarity, tone, legal protection, or entertainment value.

• This submission may fall under fair use, parody, and satire protections and, when applicable, may be protected under journalistic shield laws.

Classification Policy

All submissions received by Lady Johnson’s Ledger are reviewed by our editorial team and may be assigned one of the following classifications:

• Classified – The submission is stored for internal or future editorial reference and is not intended for publication.

• Unclassified – The submission is considered eligible for publishing, pending editorial editing and voice adaptation.

• Satirical Rewrite Pending – The submission will be stylized and dramatized in accordance with Miss Johnson’s style and tone, clearly marked as entertainment or parody.

• Pending Discretion – The submission is under extended review, due to content sensitivity, legal concerns, or verification efforts.

Classification decisions are final and based on editorial judgment and public interest.

Legal Considerations

Lady Johnson Ledger operates under the First Amendment and applicable state laws, including Texas shield laws which offer qualified protection to editorial content and unpublished source material.

As a national digital publication, we strive to adhere to general journalistic practices, including the anonymization of submissions and the protection of sensitive identities.

• We are not obligated to publish any submission.

• Submitting content does not guarantee inclusion in any edition.

• We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued submission after updates implies agreement to the updated terms.

By submitting content you confirm that the submission is your original content, does not infringe third-party rights, and you consent to editing/anonymization for publication. The publisher is not responsible for verifying factual accuracy of third-party submissions and will not publish content that names minors, alleges criminal conduct, or invades privacy.
